The Advantage of Forced Convection Oven Advanced Type compared to Standard Type

What are the advantages of Advanced type model?

Since JEIO TECH launched the Forced Convection Oven (OF4 series) with improved functionality and convenience in 2022, Oven has become one of the best-selling products. However, unlike the program type which has a clear application purpose that requires temperatures changes over time rather than fixed temperatures, there are some users who inquire the difference between standard and advanced type.

Thus, we will explore more detail in terms of different options and functions between Standard and Advanced type of Forced Convection Oven.

As you can see in the OF4 Model names (OF4-V, OF4-S), ‘V’ stands for ‘Advanced type’ and ‘S’ stands for ‘Standard type’.

1. Excellent visibility and easy control with a 5-inch touch screen
One of the main improvements when OF4 launched was the Touch-screen controller. It is a wide 5-inch display touch-screen controller that provides the device with information intuitively. On the other hand, Standard type has a 3.5-inch touch-screen which is convenient and clear for monitoring.

2. Fan speed optimization technology as efficient as a natural convection oven.
Advanced type has Opti-flowTM, a function to flexibly adjust the fan speed according to the specimen type and test conditions. It also allows the device to function not only as a forced convection oven but also as a natural convection oven.

When drying samples that can cause dust, you may choose either Opti-flowTM level 1 or Opti-flowTM level 3 for the fan speed, however Opti-flowTM level 1 may reduce internal temperature uniformity. So, if experiments where temperature uniformity is important, Opti-flowTM level 3 is recommended.

3. Convenient Data Management
The OF4-Advanced type can automatically save up to 54 files for 1 month if the power is not turned off in the internal memory. There are 54 file limits in the internal memory and the oldest data will be deleted first. Therefore, you may use the USB drive for safe storage.

You can check the up to 54 files stored in “General Settings -> Data” and touch the USB icon to export data as the image below.

4. Convenient checking for the event and graph function.
The OF4 Advanced model allows users to check the real-time graph together with events and alarms at a glance so that the test progress can be easily and intuitively monitored.

Once you turn on the oven for an advanced model, the event button and graph button will be activated, and event (Yellow line)/warning (Red line), PV/SV will be shown at the same time. The display will be moved once you click the event button or graph button as the image below.

Besides, 36 latest events (Advanced model) and 12 latest events (Standard model), such as errors and door opened or closed, automatically recorded, helping users obtain feedback on experimental results. There are 36 event limits in the internal memory and the oldest event will be deleted first.

5. Temperature ramping rate.
The OF4 Advanced model has a function to protect samples or equipment from a sudden temperature rise by setting the temperature ramping rate. The graph shows an experimental test that measures the spontaneous combustion of the sample while increasing the temperature by 1℃. Adjusting the ramping rate of temperature allows researchers to record more accurate temperature changes.
